Navy Petty Officer 2nd class Michael Hale mans a .50-caliber assault rifle while Petty Officers 2nd class Dewon Holmes and Ron Balsamo maneuver a harbor patrol craft 300 yards away from the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) off the coast of Manama, Bahrain, on August 2, 2004. The aircraft and her embarked Carrier Air Wing 17 are conducting missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. All three sailors are assigned to the Harbor Patrol Unit of the Naval Support Activity in Bahrain.
