A U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet launches from the flight deck of the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) on a scheduled mission of exercise Rim of the Pacific '04 in the Pacific Ocean, on July 18, 2004. Exercise Rim of the Pacific '04 is an international maritime exercise designed to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating Pacific Rim nations including participants from Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. The Hornet is assigned to the "Stingers" of Strike Fighter Squadron 113.
