U.S. Marines provide security for a convoy entering the city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 5, 2004. U.S. troops are deploying to Haiti at the request of the new President of Haiti to help promote the constitutional political process, to create conditions for the arrival of the U.N. multinational force, facilitate humanitarian assistance and secure key sites in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince.
