    With a B-2 Spirit bomber as a backdrop, Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld (2nd from left) thanks the men and women at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., on Oct. 19, 2001, for their efforts in bringing the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan. Rumsfeld, Sen. Christopher "Kit" Bond (left) and Rep. Ike Skelton (2nd from right), both of Missouri, visited the base as the guest of Brig. Gen. Anthony F. Przybyslawski (right), commander of the 509th Bomb Wing which operates the B-2. Planes from the 509th have flown missions over Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
