Minister of Defense Gen.-Col. Safar Abiyev (right), of the Azerbaijani Republic, inspects the honor guard during a military full honor arrival ceremony at the Pentagon hosted by Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen (left) on June 30, 2000. Escorting the two defense leaders is the Commander of Troops Col. Thomas M. Jordan, U.S. Army, 3rd United States Infantry (The Old Guard). Following the ceremony Cohen and his senior policy advisors will meet with Abiyev to discuss a range of regional security issues.
