Nancy Duff Campbell (center), co-director of the National Women's Law Center, answers a reporter's question about the findings from the center's study entitled "Be All That We Can Be: Lessons from the Military for Improving Our Nation's Child Care System" at a May 16, 2000, Pentagon press conference. Joining her in the press conference are (L to R): Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) and Sen. Jim Jeffords (R-Vt.). The Center cited the military in their report as an "...excellent model for the very real reforms that need to be made in civilian child care policy and practice as well."
