Secretary of Defense William Cohen (left) welcomes his guest, German Minister of Defense Volker Ruehe (right) with an armed forces full honor arrival ceremony at the Pentagon, May 20, 1998. Accompanying the two defense leaders as they inspect the joint services honor guard is the Commander of Troops for the ceremony, Col. Gregory Gardner, U.S. Army. Following the ceremony, Cohen and Ruehe are scheduled to attend a meeting and a working lunch where they will review a range of security issues of mutual interest to both nations.
