U.S. Marines jump out of Rigid Raiding Craft as they begin a raid on the New River shoreline at Camp Lejeune, N.C., during Riverine Interoperability Operation Exercise '98 on May 14, 1998. The Camp Lejeune exercise, more commonly known as RIOEX, allows forces an opportunity to practice conventional combat operations in a riverine environment.
