Senior Airman Shawn Petro checks a heat index meter alongside the KC-10 Extender ramp area at an operating base in Southwest Asia on Feb. 27, 1998. Petro is one of two U.S. Air Force bio-environmental engineers assigned to the 305th Air Expeditionary Group which is currently operating in the Persian Gulf area of operations as part of a force augmentation in Southwest Asia. Petro is deployed from the 62nd Medical Group, McChord Air Force Base, Wash.
