A U.S. Air Force airman directs the driver of a utility truck out of a C-5 Galaxy at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, on Jan. 6, 1998. The Air Force is flying in utility trucks and other equipment to aid the Guam Power Authority in restoring power to the island after by Super Typhoon Paka. The typhoon hit the island the evening of Dec. 16 with sustained winds of 175 mph. One wind gust recorded at Andersen was the strongest ever recorded on earth at 236 mph. The Galaxy is deployed from Travis Air Force Base, Calif.
