Petty Officer 2nd Class David Lee Jr. (left), from Virginia Beach, Va., is reenlisted aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) by his father Capt. David Lee Sr., from Fairfax, Va., via video teleconferencing on Dec. 29, 1997. Capt. Lee conducted the ceremony from the Navy Command Center in the Pentagon as his son's ship steamed in the Persian Gulf. Washington and her embarked Carrier Air Wing One are operating in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch which is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
