Two U.S. Air Force ground crew members talk while they wait to pull the chocks of a KC-10A Extender as it prepares to taxi for takeoff from 4 Wing Cold Lake, Canada, for an Exercise Amalgam Warrior mission on Nov. 4, 1997. Amalgam Warrior is a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) air intercept and air defense exercise for U.S. and Canadian forces. The KC-10A Extender is an aerial refueling tanker and transport aircraft deployed for the exercise from the 605th Aerial Refueling Squadron, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.
