A U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft touches down at 4 Wing Cold Lake, Canada, as it returns from an Exercise Amalgam Warrior mission on Nov. 3, 1997. Amalgam Warrior is a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) air intercept and air defense exercise for U.S. and Canadian forces. The Sentry is deployed for the exercise from the 552nd Air Control Wing, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.
