A Marine guides the driver of an M-923A2 5-ton truck and its trailer as he backs off the M.V. Villars at the port facility in Paldiski, Estonia, on July 10, 1997, for Exercise Baltic Challenge 97. Baltic Challenge '97 is a multinational exercise conducted as a NATO Partnership for Peace initiative involving more than 2,600 military personnel from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the U.S. The focus of the training is peacekeeping tasks and humanitarian assistance operations. The Villars is bringing in equipment stored in Norway, as part of the Norway Air-Landed Marine Expeditionary Brigade Prepositioning Program.
