U.S. Marines from Bravo Company, 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, unroll concertina wire on Onslow Beach, Camp Lejeune, N.C., on May 6, 1996, as they prepare for Combined Joint Task Exercise 96. The wire will serve as an obstacle on D-day of the exercise. More than 53,000 military service members from the United States and the United Kingdom are participating in Combined Joint Task Force Exercise 96 on military installations in the Southeastern United States and in waters along the Eastern seaboard.
