Petty Officer 2nd Class John Neet, U.S. Navy, holds his son Dustin while his wife Cafada Neet places her husband's hat on her son's head on Jan. 24, 1996. The family was re-united in Norfolk, Va., when Petty Officer Neet's ship the aircraft carrier USS America (CV 66) returned from a six month, Mediterranean Sea deployment. Additionally, the America Battle Group operated in the Adriatic Sea in support of the NATO Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operation Joint Endeavor. This was the last deployment for the USS America which is scheduled for decommissioning later this year. Neet, from Alameda, Calif., is an Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuels) onboard the ship.
