A U.S. Army M-88A 1 Recovery Vehicle drives onto the U.S. Army bridge over the Sava River from Zupania, Croatia, into Bosnia and Herzegovina on Dec. 31, 1995. U.S. Army engineers overcame freezing temperatures, unusual flooding, and other logistical challenges to build the 2,033 foot long bridge, which is longer than the Brooklyn Bridge. The bridge has become one of the primary routes for the NATO Implementation Force (IFOR) deployment into Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operation Joint Endeavor.
