    Medical Readiness Command, Europe

SEMBACH, Germany – Dental Health Command Europe (DHCE) headquarters conducted its inactivation ceremony on Sembach Kaserne, Germany July 18. Hosting the ceremony was U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Roger Giraud, commanding general of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe. The outgoing DHCE commander, Col. Scott Rankin will move to Joint Base San Antonio where he will assume duties as the Army Dental Corps Specific Branch Proponent Officer. The DHCE inactivation ceremony concludes a significant chapter in Army dentistry in Europe. DHCE and its predecessors, have long stood as a pillar of unwavering support for Soldiers serving across Europe, ensuring their dental readiness and overall well-being. DHCE traces its lineage to legacy U.S. Army medical support structures in Europe following World War II, including the former 7th U.S. Army Medical Command located in Heidelberg, Germany. It is important to note that the inactivation of DHCE Headquarters will not impact, or affect, the first-class dental care that Soldiers across Europe receive. The Army dental care mission in Europe will not change.
