JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — U.S. Navy Capt. Mark Stefanik, Pacific Partnership 25 mission commander, center, originally from Tehachapi, California, along with U.K. Royal Marines Col. Matt Churchward, Pacific Partnership 25 deputy mission commander, right, and U.S. Navy Cmdr. Alban Dervishi, commanding officer of the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), from Queens, New York, conduct a press conference with Hawaii-based media, to discuss Pacific Partnership 25, July 10. Pacific Partnership is the U.S. Navy’s largest maritime humanitarian and civic assistance mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. It is conducted from U.S. Navy ships, to include the Pearl Harbor, and is scheduled to visit Papua New Guinea, the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Samoa and Vanuatu. Experts from the Pacific Partnership team in the fields of engineering, medicine and disaster response will partner with each host country to conduct civic-action projects, community health exchanges, medical symposiums and disaster response training activities.
