Microbiologist Dana Kadavy sets up tests to identify anthrax bacteria in the Biosafety Level 3 lab at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. Kadavy helped lead a team of AFIP scientists that, in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, performed 10,000 tests on 5,000 samples of possible anthrax contamination during the anthrax mail attacks of October and November 2001.
