Fort Gordon and the United States Army Signal Center of Excellence recognize National Days of Remembrance
Henry Birnbrey of the Breman Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum, and Holocaust survivor, shares his story of survival with service members and civilian personnel of Fort Gordon, April 23, 2013, at Alexander Hall, as part of the installation’s Holocaust National Days of Remembrance event, hosted by the 35th Signal Brigade. “I will never forget their faces as the train pulled out of the platform,” said Birnbrey, who left Germany in 1938 as part of the Kindertransport, about the memory he has of his parents. “It was as if we knew we would not see each other again.” (US Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Kelly Jo Bridgwater)
