U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. James W. Bierman Jr., outgoing deputy commandant for plans, policies, and operations, stands to be awarded during his retirement ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., June 18, 2025. Lt. Gen. Bierman served as Deputy Commandant, PP&O, from January 2024 to June 2025. Prior to this assignment, he held multiple command and staff positions throughout the Marine Corps.
