JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (May 12, 2025) – U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jeffrey Biberston, Medical Corps, department head, Expeditionary and Trauma Medicine Department, Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio, provides annual Suicide Prevention Training to command personnel at the Battlefield Health and Trauma Research Institute. The Department of Defense is focused on bringing greater attention to suicide prevention efforts and connecting the military community to resources. It remains committed to supporting and guiding members of the military community who have been affected by suicide as part of its holistic approach to suicide prevention and intervention. NAMRU San Antonio, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, conducts gap-driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research in support of Navy, Marine Corps and joint U.S. warfighter health readiness and lethality while engaged in routine and expeditionary operations.
