Fuel lines are passed from amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa to amphibious transport dock USS Cleveland during an underway replenishment in the Indian Ocean. Tarawa and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are currently conducting exercises in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Maritime Security Operations help set the conditions for security in the maritime environment. From security, arises stability that results in global economic prosperity. MSO complements the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to disrupt use of the maritime environment by violent extremists as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
