    The Active Seismic Experiment ASE will generate seismic waves with controlled explosions and monitor the response to provide data about the layering of the materials below the lunar surface. Images were taken by Astronauts Shepard and Mitchell during EVA 1 of the Apollo 14 mission. Original film magazine was labeled JJ, film type was S0168 High Speed Color Reversal, Interior/Surface, 60mm lens with a sun elevation of 12 degrees.
