He was photographed by astronaut Alan B. Shepard Jr., mission commander, using a 70mm modified lunar surface Hasselblad camera. While astronaut's Shepard and Mitchell descended in the Lunar Module LM ''Antares'' to explore the Fra Mauro region of the Moon, astronaut Stuart A. Roosa, command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules CSM ''Kitty Hawk'' in lunar orbit. Images were taken during EVA 1 the Apollo 14 mission.
