The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71), returns from sea trials May 24, marking the successful completion of an 18-month Extended Dry-Docking Selected Restricted Availability (EDSRA). This extensive overhaul, which includes planned maintenance and modernization that cannot be accomplished while the ship is afloat, began in November 2022. Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) managed the EDSRA at BAE Systems Ship Repair in Norfolk. MARMC, a field activity under Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), provides surface ship maintenance, management and oversight of private sector maintenance and fleet technical assistance to ships in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
