Clearing and snagging of about 3.3 miles of Ward Creek is complete as part of the larger East Baton Rouge Flood Risk Reduction Project. Modifications began 4,000 feet upstream of the mouth of Bayou Manchac and continued upstream to Pecue Lane. The improvements are designed to reduce the risk of flood damages caused by out of bank flooding during heavy rainfall events.
