Today, members of the 118th Medical Group witnessed a historic change of command in which the reigns of responsibility in leadership passed from Colonel Grace Gibbs to Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Cooper, the first nurse taking command of the group.
“I appreciate all the support and care from each and everyone one of you in growing me as an Airman and as a leader,” said Cooper. “That motivates me to continue serving and to emulate that in all that I do.”
Cooper served as the Chief Nursing Officer, directing practices and strategies ensuring Wing and unit medical readiness.
“Our mission takes the whole team,” she continues. “You all bring value and importance to the mission, and that together provides a seamless delivery of care to all who we serve."
We thank Col Gibbs for her work and passion while leading the Medical Group, and are excited to welcome Lt Col Cooper and her outstanding leadership as she prepares to fulfill her new role as their commander.
