The Retention Excellence Award pennant is proudly displayed on the flagpole of Naval Station Newport, RI, after being one of two Navy Region Mid-Atlantic installations to receive recognition in 2023. Commander, Navy Installations Command recently announced the subordinate commands which earned the award for last year. Commands earning the award are able to fly the REA pennant until next year's recipients are announced.
