YOKOSUKA, Japan (October 17, 2023) - Capt. Rafael Facundo, deputy commander and chief of staff for U.S Naval Forces Japan, cuts a ribbon with Christopher Cazares, region emergency dispatch operations manager, during the unveiling of the newly renovated Regional Emergency Dispatch Center onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). The ribbon cutting signifies the completion in a multi-year project that has vastly improved the centers ability to handle emergency calls and coordinate emergency response. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
