To gain even more understanding of the noise concerns that air operations produce at the Wiesbaden Army Airfield on Clay Kaserne, Airfield Operations Chief Tim Eggleston (1st left) organized an airfield tour after the annual Noise Abatement Commission on Oct. 11, 2023 and is briefing the participants.
German district majors of the surrounding communities, representatives of the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden, as well as the Landeskommando Hessen of the German Armed Forces -- all jumped at the chance of a tour.
The tour highlighted a fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter static display. Jim Burke (3rd from left), Airfield Operations officer, and Eggleston, alongside the support of two pilots -- provided firsthand knowledge and information to the interested, German visitors.
Eggleston said: “Familiarizing the local Noise Abatement Commission participants with the "noise makers" has significantly reduced the number of noise complaints over the last couple of years. This was another small step towards maintaining positive relationships between Wiesbaden Army Airfield, Clay Kaserne and the local communities.”
