U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employee Emmanuel Torres Reyes, the new mission manager(RF) for the Typhoon Mawar debris mission receives an update from the outgoing Mission Manager, Zach Moore(LF), Quality Assurance Supervisor, Casey Hooten(RF) and Quality Assurance Representative, Charles Austin(RR) at the Dededo Temporary Debris Management Site.
There are between 50 and 55 USACE employees on the ground in Guam coordinating the removal of typhoon related debris from 19 villages. Before the right of way removal started USACE coordinated the debris removal from 41 schools across the island.
The USACE debris removal mission is to provide capabilities such as removal, reduction and disposal of disaster debris and technical assistance to FEMA and local governments through either Direct Federal Assistance or Federal Operations Support Mission Assignments.
