On July 28, 2023, Capt. Henry M. Roenke IV will assume command of Naval Staton Newport, RI. Roenke, a native of Geneva, NY, becomes the 73rd leader to command the 140-year-old installation when he relieves Capt. James R. McIver, the current installation commander.
