A1C Brittany Self is an Aircraft Armament Systems specialist, commonly referred to as “weapons”, who joined the Colorado Air National Guard in January, 2021.
As a weapons troop she is trained to ensure that when a mission involves dropping explosive devices, everything is in perfect working order. Whether loading bombs and missiles on aircraft or testing new weapons systems, she is a critical part of the team that gives our pilots the confidence to know that when it’s time to pull the trigger, explosive devices will successfully launch away from the jet toward the desired target.
Although this is Self’s very first TDY, her training back home has prepared her for this exercise and even solidified that being a part of the weapons team is her dream job!
