“This is a picture of my dad in southern Germany while he was in the Army in the early 1950s. He was assigned to the 374th Convalescent Center (CC) and served with the unit at Ft. Lewis, WA; Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; and Baumholder, Germany. The 374th CC moved to Baumholder to help stand up Landstuhl Medical Center. Dad left the Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1954 and eventually became a business professor at the University of Oregon. I have the unit crests he wore while attending training at what we now know as the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence.”
