“This is a photo of myself and my father, U. S. Navy Command Master Chief (retired) Oliver Lee, Jr. Dad served with pride and distinction for 30 years. There were many times when my dad was away from home. He served on aircraft carriers and did many tours in the waters near Vietnam, but no matter how busy or difficult his job was, he always found time to write to us, to tell us how much he missed and loved us. When he returned home, always bringing gifts from faraway places, the reunion was joyful. Yes, he sacrificed for our country, but mostly he sacrificed for his family. He’s been gone for over two years now and we miss him every day. I hope my service does him justice.”
