The Coast Guard Cutter WILLOW, a 225-foot seagoing buoy tender, is homeported in Charleston, S.C. While the cutter's primary mission is servicing aids to navigation, other duties include maritime law enforcement, maritime environmental protection, and search and rescue. The WILLOW, also an icebreaker, has participated with other nations in the Arctic environment as here depicted, and patrolled the region.
