U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Seymour Barnes, rear, an aviation ordnance chief, and Sgt. Jorge Cabrera, an aviation ordnance technician, both with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 101, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), perform pre-flight checks after loading ordnance on an F/A-18C Hornet at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, May 9, 2023. The squadron conducted simultaneous, live-ordnance strike operations on multiple targets, which were geographically separated by approximately 1,800 miles. The operation demonstrated 3rd MAW’s ability to command, control, and fight across a large battlespace. Barnes is a Paterson, New Jersey, native and Cabrera is a Delano, California, native.
