Members from New York State Division of Military Affairs Joint Forces Headquarters, (DMNA-JFHQ), New York Army National Guard, New York Air National Guard, and New York State Defense Forces gathered from April 11-12, 2023, at the US Army Reserve Center, located on United States Army Garrison Fort Hamilton, in Brooklyn, for their 2023 New York National Guard Civil Support Operations Workshop. The goal of the two-day conference organized by the Joint Operations Directorate at JFHQ, was to align National Guard capabilities with emerging requirements and improve contingency plans through agency briefs and breakout sessions. Attendees worked through a winter weather and civil unrest scenario, enhancing understanding of challenges and limitations from multiple perspectives.
