The guided-missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) returns to Naval Station Mayport after completing a six-month Southern Seas deployment to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility in Central and South America. Underwood participated in the annual Pacific and Atlantic phases of UNITAS, Silent Forces Exercise with the Peruvian navy and conducted counter transnational organized crime operations as part of Operation Martillo. This was the last deployment for Underwood before a scheduled decommissioning spring 2013.
