Meet Operations Specialist 3rd Class Jay McGhee,22, from Bellport, New York. McGhee is a member of Task Force 76/3’s current operations team whose responsibilities include drafting naval messages and endorsements in support of subordinate command’s tasking. He also helps produce the Weekly Intentions Messages, which details the Task Force’s plan for the week.
“I enjoy the environment and people I work with on a day to day basis, as well as being stationed in Okinawa,” he says, “It is a beautiful and nice place with lots to do once you explore around the Nago and Naha area.”
McGhee has been serving in the US Navy for almost two years. After the Navy, he intends to get his pilot’s license to become a commercial airline pilot.
