U.S. Army Spc. Reinaldo Brown, 15F, aviation electrician from Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment, Assault Helicopter Battalion, attached to the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, "Task Force Mustang," earned the title of "36th Combat Aviation Brigade Mechanic of the Week," while stationed at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Dec. 9, 2022. The aviation electricians of Delta Company specialize on electrical systems for UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Brown’s supervisor Sgt. Michael Rivera stated “Spc. Brown puts in the most maintenance hours at Al-Asad Air Base with minimal supervision, and is very dependable in accomplishing results during the absence of his superiors.” Brown immigrated to the U.S. from Jamaica when he was 19 years old and joined the New York Army National Guard for the educational benefits. He has served in the New York Army National Guard for three years, and is on his first deployment to the Middle East. Brown stated “I love doing my job as an aviation electrician and being with the people who work with me." Task Force Mustang currently provides full-spectrum Army aviation operations to the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve mission, which is to advise, assist, and enable partnered forces in the enduring defeat of ISIS.
