Coast Guard Cutter Bainbridge Island is the 43rd island class cutter to enter the Coast Guard’s fleet. A 110-foot patrol boat, it is named after Bainbridge Island which is located in Puget Sound near Seattle, Wash. The cutter is homeported in Sandy Hook, N. J., which is part of Sector New York. The cutter normally operates in the waters off the Gulf of Maine to Southern New Jersey, and it missions include search and rescue, as well as enforcement of commercial fisheries laws. It also conducts counter-drug patrols from Maine to the Caribbean Sea.
