Christopher Gardner, poses with his mother, Liz Gardner, at the station house Squad 288/Hazmat 1 as part of a visit to the Queens firehouse where his father, Thomas Gardner, worked. Chris' father was killed on duty on Sept 11, 2001, inspiring him to join the military.
