Saudi Arabian dust blew over Bahrain, Qatar, and the Persian Gulf on September 12, 2007. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer modis.gsfc.nasa.gov (MODIS) on NASA's terra.nasa.gov Terra satellite took this picture the same day. In this image, the dust appears as a pale beige arc moving in a clockwise direction. Although the dust is thin along the margins of the plume, near the center of the arc, it is thick enough to almost completely hide the island nation of Bahrain.
