U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. John Shaw, U.S. Space Command deputy commander, met with the Honorable Frank Calvelli, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, Sept. 7, 2022, at USSPACECOM headquarters, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colo. During his visit, Calvelli received a brief from USSPACECOM leadership on threats to the space domain and discussed the status of various programs to meet growing challenges from competitors. U.S. Space Command conducts operations in, from and to space to deter conflicts, and if necessary, defeat aggressions, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined Force, and defend U.S. and allied interests in space.
