Handheld still image taken by STS-114 Discovery's crew of the external fuel tank ET as it was jettisoned after launch on July 26 were transmitted to the ground early July 27. View of the +Y side of the ET. Typical popcorn divots noted on the aft dome and just forward of the aft dome LH2 tank seam. One divot noted, approximately 305 inches in length on the +Y longeron near the aft attach. Typical ablation noted on the thrust strut and LO2 feedline flanges. Numerous, small divots, probably less than one inch in size were noted on the ET intertank stringer on the Z side of the +Y thrust panel. The +Y LH2 tank to intertank flange appeared to be in excellent condition. A large area of the LH2 tank PAL ramp was missing at approximate Xt location 1215. This area of missing foam correalates to the debris event seen from the aft looking ET camera approximately 5 seconds after Solid Rocket Booster SRB separation.
