Meagan Mahan, commander Bravo Company, 70th Brigade Engineer Battalion, during an AcuDetox demonstration September 15. The demonstration was given during a MEDDAC-AK Behavioral Health Open House to educate unit and battalion leaders on behavioral health services for both Soldiers and Family Members at Ft. Wainwright. AcuDetox is a standardized ear acupuncture and acupressure treatment involving the gentle placement of five needles into specific sites on each ear for a 30 to 45 minute session. Benefits can include decreased anxiety, better sleep, reduced cravings for alcohol and nicotine and relief from stress and trauma.
