Peterson Space Force Base is hosting the first ever Air Force Wounded Warrior Program C.A.R.E event at a Space Force Base. Air Force Wounded Warrior Program C.A.R.E events serve to assist wounded, ill, and injured airmen and guardians in their recovery through adaptive sports and other programs. These programs include Resiliency, Employment in Transition, Caregiver Program, Ambassador Program, Recovering Airmen Mentorship Program, Community Programs and Airmen for life. These program workshops give Airmen and Guardians an opportunities to engage in meaning recovery-based training and camaraderie.
The Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) Program works together with the Air Force Survivor Assistance Program, Airman & Family Readiness Centers and the Air Force Medical Service to provide concentrated non-medical care and support for combat wounded, ill and injured Airmen (and their families) as they recover and transition back to duty or into civilian life.
